I'm working with a chinese co. and their db is in chinese.
I'm totally new to the db scene.

Their database is a crm, email and server - I think. It seems like it's all one deal.

The server is in our office.
Email can only be sent and received through their software, which is
their database, crm and email.

Please, what is this called? What is the name of this type of system?
Also, is SQL used for this purpose?

If anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be most useful.
