As for audio - if you're an audiophille, then fine, go buy aa 5.1 or 7.1 cinema setup for millions of pounds. If you're anything like me and just want a bit more oomph than you can get from your TVs inbuilt, then a solid 2.1 system is all you need. I suggest the set I bought for my ex, but can't remember what they're called... if I remember I'll post back.

I have a 55" Samsung, but it's a DLP as opposed to a LCD one. Have a 30" LCD on the wall in the bedroom. I like the DLP's color better, but it's not that much of a difference. Haven't seen any performance problems on either one of them. Mine both support PiP, but I don't use it, because they are both set up pretty much as monitors, rather than tuners, so there is never more than one channel for them to monitor anyway. Although I could use PiP just to use it, and just have the same video in each frame
I had a long talk with the dude at Best Buy about the 7.1 speaker system, he said not many DVDs and other output formats are using that paradygm yet. I don't know about that, but the Yamaha receiver I ended up can handle both 7.1 and 5.1. Currently I just have the 5.1 set up and LOVE it. Don't know what, if anything, I am missing by not having the extra two side speakers. My place would not really allow for unobtrusive side speaker placement anyway. I LOVE the surround sound though. Can't imagine how I lived without it before

I just need to set up some back speakers in the bedroom now *L*
