Hi All,
I am quite new to this area of technology. Recently I am given an assignment of designing a database for an application.

I thought initially that:
1) I need to identify the data points that needs to be captured
2) Structure it in the form of table
3) Draw the relationship of each table - (ERD)

and thats it.

But when i searched on the internet, I saw lots of information and activities pertaining to a database design.

Can anyone brief the steps involved in a database design? Also some URLs, references to a newbie like me will be helpful.
