Update method with now() function

I tried to update date/time . This is code that I tried to do but it didn't work. I got message syntex error.

sql="update group1 set last trade=now(), vol="&rst4("volumn")&" where ticker ='"&request.querystring("stockname")&"'"

the column last trade has a space in it, you have to say [last trade]
