Im pretty new to SQL server. Im current trying to test the recovery capacity of MSDE. It seems the database can recover from the point of failure if I killed the process from the Task manager or shut down the computer.

However, once i switch off the power and turn the PC back on, im not able to access the database anymore. it keeps saying access denied.

could anyone explain to me the reason and how can i prevent this from the future? - any backup settings for the database?

btw, im using MSDE2000 and using the server explore from visual studio.net as interface.
