SQL 9 Installation Problem

I just got a copy of the SQL/My SQL 9 .

I heard I need to set up my computer as a server and client at the same time. How do I do that?
I have installed the software in my system, but I don't see much of a difference, don't even know what to start with.

Anybody can help me with this?
