Sage and ASP/Coldfusion

I keep getting asked to develop web applications that talk to SAGE. are there any information sources on how I go about this. I have been developing web sites that talk to SQL Server, Access, MySQL, etc for years and I am hoping the structure is the same just using an different ODBC driver. Is m assumption correct?
