Simple Windows 98 Login Q

I used to use login scripts on the desktop, but it has been over 10 years since I wrote one.

I consult and I have to take the laptop to over six clients.

Each has a different set of Workgroups, TCP/IP, DNS, Gateway, etc. settings. I have defined user profiles for each jobsite, but need to write scripts to automatically set these based on the user profile logged into.

Any help here will be appreciated, I just hate using about an hour each trip to get the settings right.

Thanks!

Does it work

A friend told me to create .reg files inside the user so windows will load the .reg file on boot and find the right IP configs.

Does anyone know it this will work?

I was also told to find and use a boot commander. Any ideas there?

I downloaded a product called "AutoIT", it was suggested from another tech, and found it has no support for SMTP, IP configs, etc.

Still looking for ideas here. Do I need to go to Open Source and post an RFP to fix this?
