performing os command from 9ias browser

Hi,
I have a three tire architecture using oracle 9i database and oracle9i application server. I have developed my application using oracle9ids release 2.I want to perform some os level command (on 9ias server ,os redhat linux) through my application(ie from client pc,application is browser based).Do you have any idea how to perform this?
