Close WINZIP

Probably very simple, but I cannot find it : Is there a setting I can
use to close WIN ZIP automatically after extracting a file?

I am using WINZIP 7.0

Thank you,
Michael

It depends on how you are starting WinZip. If you are doing it from within an application you've written (such as VC), just close the window. If you are launching it from a command line, I can't think of a clean way to close WinZip.

Someone sends me a zipped file.
I save it to my drive.

I click on the file - WinZip opens. I extract the file. WinZip is still open.

(I know this is lazy.....) I now have to 'click' the X in the upper right hand corner to close WinZip.

I'm just surpised that there isn't a setting to "Close WinZip after extraction is complete".

Guess I'll have to live with the "extra" click !

Thanks Pat !

You can't just right-click the file in the Windows Exploder and select extract???

Same thing happens:
The Wizard interface opens - Extract, etc.... Wizard interface is still open.
You must click it closed.

Why, how rude! I don't have my Windoze machine handy to test, but I think it closes WinZip 9.0 automajikally when I use the right-click menu. I'll have to check that tonight or tomorrow.

OK I just downloaded 9.0 and I see what you mean.
The right click "Extract to here" is what you're talking about.
No such feature with 7.0.

Thanks again Pat !!

De nada! Just FWIW, there are LOTS of fun new toys that have been added to 9.0 that make it well worth the effort to upgrade!
