Where to Start

I have just started college. I am using SuSE 9 at home (new to linux and loving it). I will be taking some programming classes over the next few years that include a little Pascal, alot of C/C++, a lot of Java, and possibley some XML. I will need to develop and test in Linux and then move the programs to Windows. Really going for that user friendly GUI. Some other students have recommended Kylix. I am sure that's a few buck$ to pick up and not sure how many add-ons I would need. Now you know just how green I am.

Any suggestions.

Thanks to all,

Littleccguy
