How might I go about recovering files from a computer that can no longer find its OS? What sort of boot disk would I need? Or.. what suggestions do you have for retrieving lost documents and pictures? Thanks for any help.

1. Add the disk to another machine where is OS on primary disk
2. or use Linux bootable CD and mount that disk
