Hi! Anyone know how to change this informix SQL statement to oracle SQL statement?

UPDATE tableA
SET field2[34,40] = p_var
WHERE 1=1;

What does it do? I'll take a guess that field2 is a character string, and that the SQL modifies chars 34-40 of that string to the new value - in which case:

UPDATE tableA
SET field2 = substr(field2,1,33) || p_var || substr(field2,41)
WHERE 1=1;
