I have downloaded ASE 12.5.1 for Linux from Sybase web site but having problem while installing on Red Hat 9. Here is the error:

$ ./setup
InstallShield Wizard

Initializing InstallShield Wizard…

Searching for Java(tm) Virtual Machine…
…… A suitable JVM could not be found. Please run the program again using the option –is:javahome <JAVA HOME DIR>

Need your help in solving the above problem.

Hello guys any one there who can help me……..

Still no luck in installing ASE 12.5.1 on RH9

· Installed SDK (version j2sdk1.4.2_04) from the following website.
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html
(Downloaded j2sdk-1_4_2_04-linix-i586-rpm.bin and followed the instruction
on how to install the above rpm on RH9)
· Set JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2_04;export JAVA_HOME
· Also tried with JAVAHOME
· And ran ./setup
· Also tried running ($./setup -is:javahome /usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2_04/)

Still having the same problem and still gives the same error:

Any idea what I am missing here or is there any issues installing the ASE 12.5.1 on Red Hat 9?

I had the same issue on ASE 12.5.1.

ASE 12.5.2 solved the problem.
