Informix query to find first date of previous month

Hi,

I want an Informix query to find first date of previous month, ie it should calculate from the system date.

when I run a report on any date of feb it should take 1'st Jan as the start date

Please help me on this I am new to Informix DB

MDY(month(current- 1 units month), 1,year(current- 1 units month))
