Hi, I read in another thread that you cant execute like GUI applications like notepad.

Thats fine with me, what I want to know is if there is a way I can EXECUTE a file located lets say in 'C:\program files\games\testing.exe' threw the SQL with some kind of Query?

I just want to be able to run the file, I don't need to click on it or anything, I just want it to run.

are you sure it's an EXE file?

maybe it's a TXT or SQL file?

you're not using notepad to connect to mysql, are you?

what front-end application are you using?

or are you one of these command line wizards?

I connect to the database with 'SQLyog', and what I want to know is, if I can execute a .exe file with a QUERY of some kind. I want to be able to execute a file with the .exe extension on the SQL server PC.

OK, the SQL is at a friends PC. He hosts the Database for a game that we play. For the time being we dont have a Dedicated Server but we planning on getting one soon. The problem is the game crashes sometimes, and we need to find a way for me to be able to RUN the .exe files that launch the game windows so we can connect to the game again. Now, I need to find a way to run .EXE file from through a QUERY live or something. There is not other way for me to connect to his PC because remote desktop don't seem to work.
