Sybase 12.5.0 limitations

All,

My name is Karthik. This is my first post in this site. I am very glad to see people here. As i need to travel long distance, I have decided to take some good experts help from here along with me. I hope i can.Okay.

I am working in sybase12.5.0 & 12.5.4 version.

I would like to know some basic limitations between these two versions.

Say for example,

what is the limitations of the following commands between these two versions?

1) Number of AND's & OR's
2) Number of IF
3) Number of CASE in a select
4) Number of Columns in a SELECT clause
5) Number of Joins

Inputs are welcome !

Welcome to the forum.

Usually when you see 12.5 and 12.5.X, it means the X is an patch fix to whatever features that was introduced in 12.Y. So, you shouldnt see any major differences in terms no of cases etc.

Having said that, this is a very odd query in the fact that not everyone uses 100 case statements on a select.

Theres a wealth of information on http://sybooks.sybase.com/nav/base.do

And you can always try out the SQL in your dev environment and see if it bombs

Ok.
But i got an error message when i executed a query.

Error message is:

Limitation's of AND's or OR's is 255 only.

But the same query executed fine in sybase12.5.4 version. How ?
