Cool Mid\Senior Level Powerbuilder Programmer

There are two positions, one is a Mid-level and one is a Sr. Level. Salary and compensation is based on experience.



MDI Group is currently recruiting on two FULL-TIME permanent positions for one of our largest clients in Bellingham, WA!

ONLY candidates eligible for direct-hire and who do not require sponsorship are going to be considered.

Job Description:
*Develop new software applications to support business requirements (examples include: processing claims, premiums, commissions, leads, system integrations, reporting, and data warehousing).
*Participation in feasibility studies
*Project planning
*Working with users to develop requirements
*Fully document software design and technical specifications for requested changes
*Develop software code and configuration
*Complete testing of software changes
*Implement following Sterling change management procedures
*Hold training sessions to educate users on software changes
*Provide production system support as the on-call developer
*Collaborate with Application Developers
*Work closely with Business Solutions Analysts and Project Managers
*Collaborate with Application Administrators, DBAs, and other IT staff
*Primarily responsible for medium to large projects
*Assists in guiding and training lower level Programmer/Analysts and IT Developer Trainees
*Serves as technical contact with external entities (clients, vendors, etc.)
*Implements projects with minimal assistance and supervision
*Leads system requirements, design, documentation, and code peer reviews
*Analyzes data using SQL
*Performs checks to ensure data integrity

Required Skills:
*BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent education/experience
*Minimum six years related experience
*Problem solving
*Software development and design
*Relational database concepts
*System requirements gathering
*System documentation practices
*System change and release management practices
*Oral and written communication skills
*Organizational and prioritization skills
*Leadership and team building skills
*Ability to work in a team-oriented, dynamic environment
*Ability to function in a multiple task, deadline-driven environment
*Ability to work well under various stressful and time sensitive situations
*Ability to work independently with very little direct supervision
*Excellent skills in two or more of the following:
*Oracle SQL and PL/SQL skills
*PowerBuilder (version 9.0 or higher)
*C#/.NET / BizTalk framework
*Oracle RDBMS (version 8i or higher)

Desired Skills:
*Working knowledge of the following:
*Java (J2EE/J2SE)
*HTML/XML/XSL, ASP
*Infomaker
