Just wondering if there are any other *stable* and *secure* open source database systems available other than mySQL and PostGreSQL. If others do exist, is it just that these two got enough developer support ??

I'm not sure if I'd call MySQL 'stable' ;) or 'secure' (no transacts). There are a couple more that I know of -- Firebird and sapdb supposedly are good and free. Check them out on Google.
