Anyone know what is involved in doing a migration from Filemaker Pro to Oracle? There is very little information on this topic. Please let me know if you know how this is done, or know where I can find more information.

Many Thanks,

I don't know much about Oracle. However from the FileMaker side, basically you could export all the data from FileMaker into a ASCII text file (tab or comma delimited). Then I suppose you can import that into an Oracle database.

Moving from FileMaker to Oracle is quite a big jump. But if you planning ahead and want a fast and reliable database then Oracle is probably a good step.

The FmPro Migrator http://www.dotcomsolutionsinc.net/products/fmpro_migrator/index.html utility migrates FileMaker text and image data to Oracle. This application reads the FileMaker database structure, builds an Oracle database table and then migrates the data.
