german Umlaute lost after importing an export

I've exported data of one user with NLS_LANG=GERMAN_GERMANY.WE8ISO8859P1 after importing the data at the same machine all Umlaute (ä,ö,ü,Ä,Ö,Ü.ß) appear as '?'.

Any idea what can be done?

best regards
Gerald

Hi

Did you also set the NLS_LANG to the same value during the import?
And has the database got the right character_set ?

Gruss aus Afrika

The NLS_LANG is the same and the database charset was not changed since the export. So I'am a little bit confused about what to do?

I do not have any idea what to do. I've done this in the past with other computers and it always runs fine.
