| SQL Database Architect Contract to Hire or Permanent Position Pittsburgh Pa 70-85K BOE The Data Architect’s role is to design and implement the database solutions necessary for the clients suite. Data Architects work closely with Quality Assurance, Software Engineers, and other members of Product Development to ensure the success of new products, applications, and new versions of existing products Design and implementation of the database functionality Translating application requirements into a robust, well-designed technical solution Coding and documenting stored procedures and middle tier data access components Designing and conducting performance testing Debugging software and stored procedures, and fixing defects uncovered during the testing process Working with Software Architects, Software Engineers, QA engineers and technical writers to ensure the successful rollout of new applications or features Conducting advanced research to identify product/service innovations Resolving complex technical issues Education and Experience Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field 5+ years work experience in a database design and administrator role Full lifecycle project experience Academic and/or career related experience in event-driven programming and multi-tiered Client/Server architectures Technologies Strong work experience with development of stored procedures, triggers, replication, data warehousing and OLAP concepts Strong work experience with SQL Server 2000 Broad understanding of technology landscape Java, J2EE, Oracle and ERP experience is desirable Gary V.
