The http://www.bsmsolutions.com/ looks really bad for our days!

The number of fonts used is about 6, not mentioning the bold and italic mixed with normal ..... is really annoying for a normal user, who will possibly try to read the web site content.

The colors and the way you're mixing them is ... not the right one.

Think about ... something that will be easy to read ... less colors and one constant font.

The marquee and the counter, must be out! Also the IE effects of rendering the pages ... are annoying.

The content is not formatted ... properly.

Did you have a look on the "Applications" area in the mozilla browser?! That the bad part! The counter doesn't work and all pages are rendered strange.

You need to take off the web site and work a little bit on that.
Get some UI guides and some usability docs.

Good luck!

Hello all,
You are absolutely fantastic. Thank you very much for your honest and valuable inputs. I have to say, that I do agree with all of the contents of the replies posted here. For that, I am now working on correcting some of the areas as well redesigning the site one more time. “Counter and marquee will be history”.

However, the main point of this site is really to get an approval from potential customers or better yet from developers like you who are daily involved with applications.

I have done some extensive market research to understand whether or not if the database application development business is a GOOD idea. Research shows that there is market out there with enough problems to solve. Being a developer, I’ve been involved with number of challenging problems and solved it.

I am still trying to figure out the answer to one question:
What should be the convincing factor to become a business?

All the best

Much to your credit, I have updated my web site: http://www.bsmsolutions.com . I now look back and realize that counter, fonts and some of the colors were really not so appealing. In anyway, I am still continuing with the survey idea. For just a bit more….Hope your visit to http://www.bsmsolutions.com will be more pleasant this time.

Please accept my thanks in advance.

Dude,

The original web page was created in 1997. The new web page is not bad..... 2001.... give it some spice!

check this: http://www.cwd.dk/default.asp it can give you some ideas

what do i miss?

Pictures (at least one naked chick - just kidding)
Make different links - not just pure text, but real links
Make Survey and Feedback using nice texboxes....

look at dbforums.com - it's nice - text boxes, round corners, ...

The bsmsolutions site has a spelling error on the front page...where it says "We intent to develop database modules..." should be intend not intent. same misspelling on "Solutions" page.

additional spelling errors or misuse of grammar

On Survey Page
"We have done an extensive research" - having "an" in this sentence is incorrect.

"Collected information " - this would read better as "Information Collected"

"Your are welcomed to fill out our survey " - "welcome" not welcomed

Hint - I used to be a proofreader

misspellings and inproper use of grammar are sure signs of lack of attention to detail and can sometimes be construed as laziness. Definitely not what you want your prospective customers to think of you or you business.

Don't mean to be critical...just trying to help.

>>> "Your are welcomed to fill out our survey "
>>> - "welcome" not welcomed
>>>
>>> Hint - I used to be a proofreader

you missed one

"your" should be "you"

;)

playernovis, that cwd page is horrible

the fonts are too small and guess what happens when i try to enlarge them? the only thing that increases in size are the list bullets!!!

any web developer worth two cents knows that you do not use fixed size fonts, especially fixed size fonts that are too small

that "cram everything you can above the scroll" look is so last century

I didn't mean the web page by itself, but the FLASH samples under 'new sites' ....

I'm not web designer... but was this site www.cnn.com developed by beginner too? Small fonts, no resize.....

okay, i tried three at random -- arun, rizon, side

each of them had serious problems

i am *so* not impressed

sorry, no offence to you, jiri

and it's not flash, i like flash -- just not for the navigation menu!!

for example, here's a *great* site which uses flash really well --

http://www.orisinal.com/games/koala.htm

the problem with most sites that use flash is that they ignore usability
