hi all,
what tool can i use for generating ad-hoc reports for a remote database, ie a tool that can access a remote database and can generate reports.

thanks for that ...but what i actually need is a GUI tool so that i dont have to run so much query every time as the reports are large.

Hi,
Try using SQL Navigator It is available in www.quest.com
Use the export data option.. (generates a csv file)
Then u can report using MS Excel
