xmlparser Time-out (Oracle 8.1.7)

I'm using the XDK for PL/SQL to parse an xml document from a URL.
The problem comes when the URL/server is unavailable.

Is there a way in which I can set a time-out, for instance, 10 seconds, so that if the server is unavailable then we do not need to wait a couple of minutes for it to time-out?

Thanks for your help.

Adam
