SQL 2000 automated reports via e-mail

Hello, I am a total beginner with SQL 2000 and for the matter just about everything else. I have a SQL 2000 machine running and I run a 7 line query on it to get a report. I would like to automate this query and have the reports e-mailed to myself. Can I do this on the machine itself? Or I also have a couple linux machines running that if possible can I run a perl script to access the server and run the report for me and spit it out via e-mail or even post it to a web page?
