I am trying to get a custom website frontend to work with filemaker Server 5.5 on Win2000 Server. I cannot get the page to post back to the database. Is filemaker Sever compatible with the web companion?

No.

You need filemaker client installed on a seperate computer and have it open the hosted files the have the web use those open on the client computer.
