Oracle Enterprice Manager installation

Hai all,

I am using a Oracle 8i database on solaris box.
I needed to install Oracle Enterprise Manager for better monitoring of the system.I am using a windows workstation as my desktop.I would like to know ,to install OEM should i download the OEM for solaris or windows.Should i install OEM 8i since my database is 8i.can i install 9i OEM on my desktop using the windows edition.

Please help me

OEM is client functionality though you should download for nt

afaik from a 9i client you can connect to 8i databases

the only trouble I have seen with different versions was between 7 vs 9
and 7 vs 8i clt

Are you using OMS? If so, you have to use the same version of the Enterprise Manager as the server.
If it is 9i you can also install 9i agent on your 8i database server to be able to use all the functionality OEM 9i provides.
