Synchronization

Do any of u know links, books, etc in this matter. I want to develop a decentralized db to be used by different apps on different places. My middle tier will handle the synchro since i have linux and palm clients as well as Windows. I want it to be cross rdbms because my middle tier use linux and windows rdbms concurently.

Thanks in advance.
