SSH Client for beginners

I'm going to blush when I look back at this some time but for the moment I'm stuck and need help.

I have just started learning MySQL and don't seem to be able to get past page 1. My book proposes various ways of logging on to MySQL including TelNET, SSH and MySQL client. I've successfully accessed my database via MySQL-Front but that's not giving me the command-line entry that I need.

My book confidently states 'whichever method and operating system you use, you'll end up at a command line'....but I haven't!

I'm using PC and accessing a Linux server.

Help!!

PUTTY

Hi Dude
Welcome to the world of SSH. Look for PUTTY on the internet, and install the same on your PC.

Get the IP of the linux box, with a username and password, and connect using a SSH connection.
Now use the command in the book to start mySQL.

Hope it helps you move ahead.
Thanx and Regards
Aruneesh

Many thanks Aruneesh...I was at something of an impasse. Probably the first of many.
