phpmyadmin shutting down iis 5

I have phpmyadmin running on a winxp pro platform with mysql and iis 5.

Sometimes, not always, but sometimes when I update a field, phpmyadmin hangs for a bit and then shuts down my webserver! Alarming behavior. I wonder if it might be something in teh config I never did properly?

thanks.
Steve
