Use "OR" in If else condition

This code works....

if (request.querystring("stockname")="BA" then
sql="update group1 set vol="&rst5("volumn")&" where ticker ='"&request.querystring("stockname")&"'"

But when I use "OR". It didn't work

if (request.querystring("stockname")="BA" or "LA"or "LMIA" then
sql="update group1 set vol="&rst5("volumn")&" where ticker ='"&request.querystring("stockname")&"'"
