To keep long story short. The database and the ASP reside on two different network. I use UNC path to make ASP sees the database. I implement the second approach that is described on Microsoft's article below..

It works but more and more now that ASP fails on the connection string and issues an error message.

Is this a known problem? Can someone give me some pointers? Is it because of the UNC? Or could it be a permission issue?
