How exactly are you trying to access this database or txt file?? Are you sure that the accessing of these files is pointing to your machine and not to another location?

What it sounds like to me is that you are timing out while trying to access another machine...

when you reinstalled the machine you may have enabled something that wasn't previously enabled.... a network card or some network setting... *shrug* but your problem is solved so...

no,i dont think soo,

since few days before the code was working properly.

rest all asp files were working properly, except those one which were

refering to either a database and the one which were using a

filesystemobject.even i was puzulled with such a behaviour of my

machine.

one more thing, that i upgrade my office from 2000 to XP, let us assume

that this might be the problem with the database as i was using access

as backend.

but what was the prob with the filesystemobject ???

also i was logged as administrator.

and it was working fine on other machine !!!

Hmmmm,.... hard to say what it could be... maybe you just glitched your system as windows is prone to.
