James,

I think they are more aiming at releasing "domyapp" as it may fetch more income.
However removing the database size is a game changer as far as I am cocerned if we do not have stability and root damage issues. Currently I am storing my files outside the database.Yes database became lighter but is causing issue on file security in multi user client platform.
Also you can manage the images and catalogs effectively due to unlimited storage.

If you find more facility in filemaker advanced, please share your experience.

When they released 7.0 from 5.2 it was a big change. We expect similar changes in V10 too. Let us wait and see.

I was waiting for Android support, not designing for database. But viewing and editing records. I want to use some part of my database with touch screen cheap android tablet devices. I could not find a way.

I was using my database for about 15 moths. Its size is only 10Mb. Lots of PDF files linked to records but they are in sub folders. It can be 4Gb in 100 year. Than i need V10

Turkish character sorting is wrong. This error slow me when using my database. Its still wrong on V10.

Good things done in new version. But its version number can be V9.50 not V10. This version does not bring me any innovation.

My thoughts in this way.....

Regarding the database size I have made Mikhail the suggestion to connect an external database like Postgresql as storage engine or to embed Firebird as additional storage engine for a reliable database with unlimited size.
The .bdb file could still contain the structure.

This would have the advantage to have a better updateable database as with the current structure of one file for data and structure...

Android and other OS:
I think it could be difficult to do this, depending on the used compiler/database engine.

Sorting turkish: Sounds like a problem with the internal database engine and their sorting possiblities.

Here are a shortform of my last information about Filemaker:
Filemaker advanced can compile an application with a protected structure.
These compiled applications are single user only.
For multi user you need to purchase the server edition + user licences for each customer.
The Server Version need the application in an unprotected version, open for everyone to alter/view.
These informations are somewhat aged and from the sales staff in germany...
