Financial services firm located in Manhattan is in need of Sybase development expertise. Salaried position paying 90-110K

Must have:
Excellent experience in a Sybase v12.x environment including advanced knowledge of stored procedure development.
Good understanding of database design in a Sybase environment.
Experience in UNIX environment and shell scripting.
3 - 5 Years experience in financial services doing Sybase/SQL Development

Should have:
Finance experience particularly in Back-office financial reporting requirements.
Experience is Client-Server using PowerBuilder.

Nice to have:
Experience with Cognos report writer or other report writing environment
Java experience.

Notes from conversation with Manager on 8/17/04:

Their project is doing a lot of feeds into their Data model for sending reports to London to comply with regulations (Sarbanes Oxley, etc.). They have good development people in PowerBuilder (which is their main front end for the system) and Java / WebSphere (which is secondary). They also have a good amount of DBA knowledge in the group so that isn’t needed.
The main things are Sybase (Stored procedures and SQL development) and Unix (Shell Scripting).
Should have a good amount of Financial Services experience.
