i plan to create a website for user who stay in condominium. this website is speacially created to ease the residents who live condominium. Do you have any idea what are the features or facilities that i can put it the website?
for example, this website enable residents to pay their rental or maintenance fees online. or add forum to this web site.
Anyone who has idea do not hesitate to post it here. i would appreciate any advice.

My first suggestion would be to ask them what they'd like. The most important step to satisfying user's needs is to discover what those needs are!

Next, try to foster a sense of community. Do what you can to develop a "sense of place" with community involvement.

A few years ago I developed a database for a Diabetes department in an NHS hospital. After a few weeks I told my manager I had to rewrite sections of it due to the way that patients were processed in clinics. My manager's response, "Tell Dr ***** that he's running his clinics wrong, and he needs to change!"

Tha's how the goold old NHS works (in parts).

I disagree entirely, what ive found that if a consultant(or manager) doesnt like something youve provided them, theyll either bad mouth you to everyone or produce something by themselves:- especially when youve given them exactly what they asked for

Oh, you'll laugh at this remember the problems i had with SQL Server and our helpdesk database? Well, my boss now has me custom building our own interface for it now. Talk about stupid.

Back to the question at hand though, Find out what they are looking for, locations, local attractions nearby those locations. BAsically everything you would look for if you were there and more.

Well, true, but im out of the biking scene for at least six months due to my last load of injuries (remember the shopping list?). The general outline so as to not hijack this thread, is that my left shoulder hasn't healed properly, and as a result either the collarbone is sitting about an inch higher than it should be, or I have severely damaged the shoulder joint itself, which is sitting an inch lower than it should be. the doc's not too sure, so i've been referred to a specialist to get it looked at, but if that doesn't help any then it means going under the knife. Nice... 6 week holiday!

Going back to the topic of this thread though, i took it as a holiday thing, but if it's a long term living situation, relative closeness to the local shops, restaurants, and entertainment would be failry major things. From there it's as David said (if they have children), local schools (good ones hopefully), etc.

Didn't make myself clear. What I found was, if the customer (consultant usually) likes it, you're almnost immediately told by an IT manager to change it - seems to be on principle. This did result in hige rows between Consultants and said managers, but not face to face of course.

I have to say that most of the consultants I worked with were extremely polite, and expressed appreciation of the work I did. They always asked for changes to a "finished" product though. I remember doind a project for two consultants, whenever one wanted something changed the other would rung up the day after the change and aske for something else to be changed! Bit like a competition.

It wasn't awkward consultants that chased me out, but a bullying manager, something that seems all too common in hte NHS.

Ive experienced it myself after working for abt 3 years in the NHS, the management seem to be disgraceful (at least where i was), but now after im out of that situation (although still contacting for the NHS) im a lot happier and with management that seem to respect my abilities

Oh and by the way my wifes not pregnant before rumours start so i wont be having another child next month unless it;s one of these miracle alien baby's
