First, create a data source:
Click [extras] > [Data Sources]
Click on [New Datasource], then enter a name for your new data source.
Select the database type (dbase). Now enter the path to your *.dbf-File which was generated by FileMaker Pro. (Enter the full path, not just the filename).
Now, it's very easy to enter the fields you need/want.
Click [Insert] > [cross-reference]
Open tab “Database”.
In the list “Field type” select [mail merge field].
In the other field, “Database selection” select the data source that you have created (click on the sign “+” first then select the table you want. The table should have the same name as the exported *.dbf-File).
Click on the sign “+” and a list of all fields within the table will be shown.
You can add a value to your document by double-clicking a fieldname.
