1) ask the question on an internet rathrer than a databasae forums site
2) search the web for autocomplete, or internet explorer vulnerabilities
3) don't answer yes when asked if you want internet explorer to save or autocomplete

there is a setting somewhere within IE that asks if you want to auto complete set it to no.

Since this is a general conversation I don't understand the flaming of the guy...

As for the question, Internet Explorer fix is Tools --> Internet Options --> Content tab AutoComplete.

See if that fixes it.

I've often wondered about this myself. I just discovered today that my computer remembered some info that I put in a website more than a year ago,
even though I frequently delete all my cookies.

I remember finding a way several years ago to delete either
the fat.db or index.dat (I don't remember which). I wonder if that would
eliminate all of those autofills....

This may be a bit off-topic, but here's a quick article on index.dat files:

http://www.winguides.com/article.php/12/index.dat

Of course, they're peddling software that cleans all such files. But there are a few available that work on a free trial basis. I was just curious to see if I could dust off the ol' DOS skills and do it manually.

I found out how to do it in DOS. It worked well on my pc...

Restart in safe mode, with dos prompt
Log on as Administrator
type "cd\"
type "del index.dat /s"
shutdown -r

This will remove all versions of index.dat from the pc.
It found about 30 of them on mine. (network pc, multiple accounts)
