Post what kind of application uses .cdx extensions

I'm looking at a Point of Purchase application. I've noticed that the data is stored in files using the .dbf extension and other files have the extension of .cdx.

Can anyone link these files to a specific type of database. The only data base experience I have is with MS Access and I know these files have nothing to do with Access.

Thanks for any help.

Filename extensions are good indicators, but are not "iron clad" guarantees. A DBF file is usually a FoxPro data file, and a CDX file is usually an associated index file. Depending on your software configuration, you should be able to read the DBF, and possibly the CDX using MS-Access.
