Purely for giggles and grins

For those of you that know VBulletin (except Mat, he could figure this one out without even looking at it), this is a fun puzzle. It would lead you to think that there is either a problem in the web page or one in the database, but the pages presented are actually correct.

Can you explain the difference in post counts for my last two posts?

I admit my semi-sequitur did not hit a Homer, but I hoped someone would pick up on it. ;-)

But if I'd manipulated the Ajax, then the web page would be wrong (tampered with, but still wrong). It actually is correct as rendered, and I did not tamper with the code in any way... I simply used the page and its controls as they were designed.

The trick was stunningly obvious when I figured out what I'd done.

Even if you didn't hit a Homer, you probably managed to smack an Apu!

Well, I can see why someone who quickly replies (as Pat does) would uncover this oddity. Still, it does fit the profile of an AJAX (if not Ajax) process. Although, I am curious why Pat thinks there is an Achilles Heel in this theory.
