Ha ha! You suck at reading weather forecasts. I postponed my Wales trip to this weekend so I get the incredible mid August weather we were promised.

Just realised - I need to squeeze something beginning with "S" between Fire and Marshall for my new responsibility title.

I've been to Wales 4 times in the past, I don't need a weather forecast to tell me it's going to pee down. I'm off to Greece tomorrow though so I'll make a wild stab at the weather there 40 deg C, sunshine and a few forest fires.

Traditionally people go for Safety but for a change you could try Starting.
Is this a new promotion?

I have been selected from a pool of two for the prestigious position of backup to the backup of the Fire (Safety) Marshal, aka FSM. My credentials started with being in the office more than the other person. Actually, my credentials ended there too.
If the fire alarm goes off and the principle FSM is out, and the back up FSM is also out, yours truly gets to play Backdraft

You'd think that most people would have the sense to leave a building when it's on fire but in my experience people don't always do the most sensible things in emergencies.
I was renting a place with a fun but perhaps not very clever bunch. I came back one night and found smoke billowing out the front door - I decided to park my motorbike down the road a bit so it didn't get knocked down by the fire engines and then went in (I'll accept that might not be a good option too) to see what needed doing. I found one of the girls running up and down the stairs screaming fire (but hadn't called the fire brigade). The smoke, and there was lots, all seemed to be coming from one of the guys bedrooms. I put the visor down on the helmet and went in (again sometimes not a good idea). It turned out the bed was on fire but the guy was still asleep on top of it. The flames were coming out the sides of the bed and he was unconscious on top of it. I gave him a big slap which half woke him up - he looked at the little flames that were circle round him and then looked at me, all dressed in leathers and helmet, then and then closed his eyes and rolled over! I ended up carrying him out the back of the house then putting a wet blanket over the bed and taking it out the front. It took the guy about 3 hours to make a complete sentence (I guess I should of taken him to the hospital).
I'd like to say that was the only fire I've been in but sadly I've been in 2 house fires and 2 car fires - and, in my experience, no-one ever does anything sensible.

Noooooooooooooooo! The last weekend in July was when I was originally booked in. I thought the weather stank then?

It poured it down on the drive up (seriously torrential) bug when we were a mere 25 miles away, the clouds broke and out came Mr Sushine
It was windy for the first 2 days but glorious after that!
But no matter how sunny it is there, you never see people in the sea without a wetsuit. Wimps.

...but it was totally worth it for the Christmas card he sends you every year in appreciation for saving his life.
Right?

I thought the weather always stank over there. Which is why we all left and came over here. At least those with the wisdom to come in out of the rain.
I am in a major boredom gumption trap today.
Attracted myself another undesirable admirer this weekend. I feel like I am in high school. The girls I want, I do not get, and the ones I do not want are in great supply. Siiiggghh.

even the mp3 player has me bored today and I have some new additions. I have the new Yob album, some more classical stuff, and a number of early 90s hardcore EPs I finally imported. No one has stressed me out or pissed me off yet. Where's my boss?
