it's not about that

this thread is about which browser do you like to use to browse

one DOES NOT NEED to "work hard to get cross-browser compatibility" in order to browse the web -- one just browses the web

which browser do you like to use for that purpose?

There config settings that really make a difference , type in the address line:

about:config

In the Filter type in pipelining

Change:

network.http.pipelining to True
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests to 30+

This makes a big difference to the performance of Firefox.

Oh its UI is sluggish. Opera and Chrome are the only browsers with smooth & lightning fast UI.
Firefox is also slower at page-loading as compared to Opera and Chrome.

It so slow out-of-the-box let alone with add-ons.

So many cool add-ons and so much bloating.

There was a time when i loved firefox, then came the time i didn't love it that much, then came the time i didn't like it at all. And now i just can't stand it.

Opera is my primary browser. And the only other browser i like is Chrome.

Firefox

I have and still do use chrome on a regular basis. Firefox's easy to use open source abilities make it by far the best browser for any kind of internet business. Chrome for just browsing is the best though. Chrome has the simple and clean look to it and it is relatively fast. Funny thing I noticed yesterday though is that there seems to be a lag between google and google chrome. My google results updated faster in firefox then in google chrome, very strange!

Haha, "firefoxy." I use Safari for personal browsing and Firefox for work--I really dislike the latter though, but only use it because it's easier for work. Safari, all the way.

Try IE9, not a bad effort at all. Lots of CSS3 support. Definitely quicker.

Opera is not only fastest when it comes to page loading, it also has so many features that saves time. Oprea is all about time-saving.
