Poot's post made sense to you?
I just thought he was going through some sort of strange boot up procedure.

yes the flump made sense. here is a handy graphic to explain...

Maslow's hierarchy of needs - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

it is actually a little wierd sometimes what I have in common with him. I am of course not a sock puppet.

nah, just guys with names like Abdul and Kumar. Does the school system produce any native born computer programmers any more or are they all working fpr the governments death machine? Not that it matters much to me. Just odd is all.

You have to give credit to the Farrukh's, Mohammed's and Manoj's - they learn, get a job and continue to learn and excel. Some Americans I know think everything should be given to them without professionally giving back. I'm not saying all Americans as I believe it's a very small percentage - so no nasty replies please. I've seen a good amount of us come into an environment and excel as well. I think when expectations as to worth and value as an employee is not in line with the industry (and the current economy), the ones who tend to slack-off wind up losing far more than they could gain. I know my job does not entail exactly what I was originally hired for, due to employee departures and new business. I have been given additional tasks to complete but with it, the ability to enhance my resume for the future. Take what is given to you, deal with it the best you can AND if it truly sucks, get out. It's been my personal experience (and largely that of the people with whom I have comiserated) that the Farrukh's, Mohammed's and Manoj's are no more or less motivated, captivated, or capable than our local Tom's, Dick's, an Harry's. Many people worry about a percieved (or real) influx of the former group and getting replaced by a more capable, hardworking person.

I used to be closer to that thinking than I am now. While I have no doubt that as individuals people in either group can excel when motivated to do so, but I seriously have not seen any evidence that shows me one of the groups is any more capable than the other.

When I hire or go to work with someone, I am now oblivious to color or heredity or national origin. There are great minds in both, and in both you will find flat out idiots that should still be home suckling mama's...welll..."suckling parts".

yous guyz gots me all wrong. I was just wondering, if americans still got CS degrees. that's all.

i love Friday night software releases that were rushed out the door, rammed through test, and coded by people who never really bothered learning c# (being me). And my qa person tonight on my stuff is not the same one I tested with this week. its going to be another long night. T-minues 24 minutes.
