I just find it interesting that a sport that is barely a professional sport in the US, and does not attract the attention of our best athletes, produced a team that battled a team from your country's most popular sport to a draw. I guess in this case, size matters.

that's it. I am quitting. The firday night deplymnet is not even my project and I have to be on call for someone else's deployment. Normall this would be OK, but the company bought us tickets for Strasburg's 3 rd start that night. Damn computer nerds.

Thrasy!!! So be on call...

I'm sure that you'll have little or no chance of hearing the phone over the crowd, especially if the phone is at home. Be sure to check your phone for messages as you leave the stadium or when you "find" the phone again, whichever comes first.

Yes, that was in 1950. I think it was the only time they met in a world cup. Saturday's game was boring. I am glad we got one point but the way it happened was awful. I can't believe England does not have a good goal keeper. what an embarrassment! And here I thought they are a legitimate contender to win the World Cup! .. Not with that kind of goalies.

ON_CALL = NO BOOZE.
FUN(ON_CALL + BASEBALL) < FUN(NOT(ON_CALL) + BASEBALL).

She-boss must be worried about this one or she is punishing me for some transgression real or imagined.

We aren't (and never were) legitimate contenders for the world cup, and we do have decent keepers. Not greats by any stretch, but decent. What happened on Saturday was a freak. Three of our last four keepers (those making the odd appearance excepted) though have had a freak goals like that too funnily enough (google Scott Carson and Paul Robinson if you are so inclined).

I thought it was a reasonable game. We did fine. Without Donovan I don't think the US would be up to much either, but he was a real danger.

US and England will breeze the group - all depends on who scores the most.

Just tell them to page you via the Jumbo-Tron. If the group from the company is going by bus, just have the boss tell all of them that if they page you all of them have to come back, too. I am sure it won't come to a full scale rebellion, or anything ;-).
