Well y'all are a chipper bunch this morning/afternoon/evening! Nice burn there, Geo...I like that.

I get my new Droid phone tonight. Going from a phone that I got (with a QWERTY keyboard) so I could finally start texting (which is really the only thing I do with my phone besides make phone calls) to a state of the art movie-streaming, calendar-carrying, music-playing (but only downloads from Amazon, I hear), internet-surfing, app-loading hand-held computer!!!

I fear it as much as Sean does his new weekend diversion (and probably for the same reasons).

But, like Sean, I will charge ahead regardless, over the abyss and into a brave new world.

Amazon uses the mp3 format. I wonder what that sh*t is all about.

This is cute...

I think we should start posting suspicious combinations of words in otherwise benign sentences.

If she is cuter, smarter and hipper than me, than it is going to be a challenge worth my time. I like challenges. Bravery is not the absence of fire. It is it's conquest.

Cannondale RT1000.
Turns out the Lamborghini was actually being sold by one of my co-workers. The Cannondale is a nicer bike (retailed for $2,300 vs $700 for the Lamborghini), but I still feel like I missed out on a unique bike.

Classic excuses being dredged up
BBC Sport - Football - World Cup 2010: Fabio Capello slams 'worst ever ball'
its the new design of ball....
as if that explains variuos wayward performances.
I heard mumblings that the Bundeleiga had been using the ball all last season (as you woudl expedct with Adidas being a German company and sponsor). however England couldn't use it in the EPL because they are sponsored by Nike.

I can see it now
We wus robbed by those nasty Germans who practised with the new ball for a year.

I was pouring scorn on the ball issue before the cup started but I've watched about 6 games now and have only seen a handful of long range shots (and crosses for that matter) where the ball has gone where the striker intended. I thought last night Forlan had demonstrated how to strike the ball until the replay showed the defender doing a Paul Parker.
Generally almost all the teams have been disappointing to far. It is interesting though to note that the Germans are the only team to have looked good, all their players play in the Bundersliega and they have been using the ball for a year.
It is no excuse, just an interesting observation. It is not as if everyone else is controlling the ball well except us, it is no one seems to be controlling it but the Germans.

Good lad! Android is the platform to be on IMHO What handset are you going for? I have the Milestone (the one that still has a QWERTY ) and it is awesome.

The thing about Amazon is rubbish - it is just that they offer an easy API to their music store so you might find a good few apps with that functionality built in (listening to streamed media with a link to Amazon to download).

except that supposedly the ball has mainly been used in Argentina, USA & Germany
mind you considering that so players many of those 3 teams do not ply their trade in their home league

at least Green isn't blaming the ball (as yet)

it did seem odd that SWP long range shot curved the other way to the way way he seemd to expect.

ultimately though its about players skill, professionalism and preparation, all 3 of which I suspect may be lacking in virtually any England team

interesting
my contract is up for renewal this year. for the last 10 years or So Ive used MS phones from HTC. one thing I do like is the true synchronisation between phone and desktop... a god send for email & outlook contacts.. do you know if the Android phones can synchronise with outlook.

over the years I've had various salesmen try to convince me that Sony/Ericsson & Nokia Synchronise but what they usually mean is there is a clunky interface to get contacts from their system to outlook
