ESPN has the rights to all the games but I think abc will show the USA vs England game tomorrow (so you don't need cable to watch it).

Yea, although I am not a baseball fan I enjoyed watching that game Tuesday. That kid (Strasburg) is phenomenal! I hope the Nationals improve their roster and build a good team around him otherwise it would be a huge waste of talent.

they just picked up some rockstar catcher in the draft, but the team is couple\few years away from being dangerous. I am going to throw a temper tantrum if they tell me I have to be on call or onsite for next Friday's release.

The World Cup is one the "Crown Jewels" in the UK (sporting events which must be shown on free to air television).
No doubt the Republicans amongst you are now exploding in an apoplectic storm of fury at this evil Socialist policy.

IIRC if a team goes down to seven players the game is forfeited. Or at least stopped.

Piffle - a cane is for nothing more than a little playful flirting.

The slide tackle, when executed well, is one of the crown jewels of sex.
I don't particularly like soccer for the reasons Sean outlined, but I will probably watch just to have a new excuse to drink early in the day tomorrow.
Plus since I am now an honorary latino, I guess I need to learn enough about the game to converse.

Paul, I think of you when I hear the Mexican Bands track off of Merle Haggard's new album.

Yeah, I like that one too...need to buy or steal that CD, come to think of it.
George Strait did a version of the ole' drinking song "El Rey" that I like (Although Patricia makes fun of his accent *L*). But it got played by the DJ at one of our group's parties a while back, and folks were surprised I could sing along with them.
Country folks have always seem enamoured of the latin american women and countries. Maybe I am just following tradition.

The Merle album is good. I am almost alone among my friends when it comes to country music. I only like the old guys though. Waylon, Hank Sr, Johnny Cash, Johhny Paycheck, Merle Haggard, old Willie Nelson and some of the old bluegrass guys like the Stanley Brothers and Bill Monroe.
