Next time I'm out at a banking convention, I'll take better notes but my response was based on Microsoft's dedicated database servers running MS SQL, not SQL servers in general. I just can't see the security and reliability aspect running that on top of such a insecure platform.

The DoD certifies MS-SQL as C2 being compliant. Check out Improve productivity and decision-making with Enterprise Business Solutions for the U.S. Department of Defense for more details. Does the DoD not understand secure systems, or am I missing something?

When he said "SQL Server" he meant "Microsoft SQL Server".

Most of us dirty MS guys just call it "SQL Server" out of habit.
