Just an FYI for those of us out there who are using Avast AntiVirus on Windows XP.

There was a definition update released that identifies the SFloppy.sys file as a rootkit, this has been confirmed as a false positive and Avast is saying they'll have a patch out today.

Hopefully this'll help some others so they don't shut their network down for 2 hours as we did until we could find out what was going on.

I doubt there's anything scarier than a rootkit message that's cascading across your user network.
