OK Corral

New year, new thread.

Plus, we have our first WTF contender for 2013: Advice needed. Need a database middleware?

Got my vote. But another contender is our network guy. Woke up Sunday morning and had 278 alerts from db backup failures. Already had a support ticket to increase space on SAN when he mentioned "How much is enough?". My response was "When we have full backups and the company isn't at risk." Duh...

Or just keep them on the local drive. Jeezee...Trying to understand previous DBA's thinking sometimes make me want to drink booze again.

Don't wet yourself just yet. I've been here just as long before the meltdown and spend my 500 post on your celebration. Congrats! In the last ten years here I've lived in four countries, worked for a select fortune 50 companies, been broke and destitute on the streets of Loundon, traveled to countless counties, dated women twenty years my junior, married a very beautiful russian woman, spent $250k on whatnots (can't remember), and now somewhat settled to a managed role with one DBA report.

Fuk dat! Geten dis dagen fra. Um retorie esplanonis.

Cheers,

Jon

If that will cause you to stop posting, I can fix that problem!

I like having you around... I like to abuse the elderly and if you leave I'm pretty sure that I'll be the oldest one left around here!

Everyone needs a cover story. By Everyone I mean Brad Pitt in a character role.

Time to retire R937, and create a brand new web identity.
Announcing the brand new "R938"!
